City Box

Self Storage operator City Box has 23 sites in the Netherlands. Initially City Box was responsible for all ICT-related business and support, however this used a lot of resources and City Box decided to outsource its IT for 4 main reasons:

• Reduction of costs and resources
• Reduction of risk and possible failures
• Reliability of e-mail services
• Centralized backup and internet access to all sites

The objectives were to provide an excellent service to the 23 sites and their customers, for the sites easily to communicate with each other and be able to share tasks. Additionally, head office needed an overview of the daily operations for all 23 facilities.

The self storage software solution

All 23 City Box sites are now communicating through a secured VPN technology in a datacentre. Through these solutions regional managers are able to work from home more effectively and are now able to share tasks and support the local site managers. Each site runs on a standard self-storage program called Store-IT. Through a secured internet connection, Store-IT sends real-time operational and financial data to headquarters, which enables them to have actual and up-to-date management information. All data from each site is automatically backed-up and secured.
